Stop and think for a moment.

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word "taste"? Like many of us, your mind may automatically start to think of food. And once you're thinking about food, you may even start to feel hungry. Suddenly, before you know it, your mind begins to drift and you see yourself sitting in your favorite restaurant, as you're just about to take a mouth-watering bite of your favorite food. Sounds good right?

But what about foods that have a taste that's less than appetizing? Can you remember a time when you've been left with a bad taste in your mouth? Chances are that you'll never find yourself fantasizing about eating those foods. Especially foods that you think caused you to get physically sick! Perhaps you ate something, became sick afterwards, and then immediately blamed it on the food to the point that to this day you've decided that you'll never eat that food again! It's pretty safe to say that we've all been there before.

And what about those foods that you've been taught since you were a kid that are healthy for you—foods like fruits and vegetables? Have you ever heard the timeless saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away?" Everyone knows that they should feed their bodies the good stuff to keep themselves running in tip-top shape. Why then do our taste buds scream for the foods that aren't healthy for us—foods like cake, ice cream, chocolate, candy, etc.? Why is it that we find ourselves craving what isn't good for us?

The answer seems so obvious…because they "taste" good! But even though they taste good, do they really satisfy our needs? Are we getting the vitamins and nutrients that our physical body so desperately needs? Of course not! Everyone logically knows that junk food is filled with empty calories. And when we indulge ourselves with them, although our stomachs indicate to us that they're full, they're really not. It's a temporary, unhiealthy, false sense of fulfillment.

It's amazing—this thing called taste! It's so powerful. Once we physically taste something, we can quickly determine whether or not we like it and if we'll ever have it again.

So where's this going—what's the point? What is this video all about anyway? Is it all about food? Is it about our taste buds? Well, in a way it is. Only it's not about the kind of food you physically put in your mouth. And it's not about our physical taste buds. Instead, it's about spiritual food and our spiritual taste buds.

What's that? Spiritual food and
spiritual taste buds?

Exactly. It's okay if you're thinking that none of this makes sense. Right now you may be saying, "What in the world is spiritual food? How do I eat it? Where do I get it? And more importantly, why do I need it?"

These are all very valid questions—questions that will be addressed in the video. And as you sit and watch the video, you may be surprised to discover that you come in contact with and consume spiritual food everyday. And when you consume it, it works just like the physical food you eat in the sense that once it's digested it can either make you feel full and satisfied or sick to your stomach. That's because much like the physical foods we buy in the grocery store, in the world, there's a wide variety of spiritual food—both healthy and non-healthy!

Healthy spiritual food will leave you feeling satisfied and wanting more. Once you taste it and see how good it is, you simply can't get enough and you'll want to share it with everyone you know. But unhealthy spiritual food will leave you with a poisonous taste—tastes such as bitterness, resentment, anger, unforgiveness, anxiety, fearfulness, emptiness…the list goes on and on.

As you watch this DVD, you'll gain a better understanding of what this means. Throughout the video, you'll watch, listen, and identify with people just like you—people who've gone "taste-testing" without even realizing it. But now that they're aware of what was actually happening, they gladly want to share with you what they've learned through their experiences.

Through their sharing, you may come to discover that you too have been out in the world, taste-testing. Maybe you've been eating healthy food. But then again, maybe you've been feeding your spirit toxic food, explaining why you feel the way you do—as though your life isn't that satisfying; as though there's something missing—leaving you wanting more. More happiness. More love. More peace. Just more…

Before you continue reading the rest of this brochure, please take a few minutes to relax, listen, and enjoy the message in the video. Prayerfully, it will not only leave you with a good taste in your mouth, but more importantly in your spirit—leaving you wanting more.
you with a good taste in your mouth, but more importantly in your spirit—leaving you wanting more.

If your heart has been touched and changed by God's message in this video, and you've decided to make the all-important move to give your life to Christ, you're now part of the family of God.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." —2 Corinthians 5:17

At this point, you may be asking, "What do I do now?" And that's a very good question. The Bible says that when you're in Christ, you're a new creation—you've been born again (John 3:3). And just as a newborn baby that comes into the world needs nourishment to thrive, such is the case with your spiritual birth—you need spiritual sustenance. have become new." —2 Corinthians 5:17

There are four basic things you can do as you begin your new relationship with Christ—prayer, Bible study, baptism, and fellowship with Christian community.

1

Prayer: The biblical word for talking to God. Prayer is communication between you and your heavenly Father. Prayer does not have to be in King James English in order for God to understand you. On the contrary, God created you as you are, and He wants to spend time communicating with you. Go ahead and thank Him for the beautiful day. Ask Him for guidance in difficult circumstances. Most important, ask Him to give you strength and wisdom to live a life that pleases Him. As you open your Bible each day, ask Jesus to open your eyes and heart to see and hear what His Spirit says to you.

2

Bible study: allows you to get to know God. How would you feel if you had not eaten anything for three days? You would feel like passing out! With spiritual nourishment, the principle is the same. When you go three days without reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus, you are spiritually starving (1 Peter 2:2). But when you spend time with Jesus daily, you will be satisfied spiritually. Before going to sleep each night, ask yourself, "Did I learn something new about Jesus today? What promise did Jesus reveal to me today? How have I become more like Jesus today?"

3

Baptism: is an act that Jesus commands His followers to participate in (Matthew 28:19). As you are submerged underwater, it represents the death and burial of your old life. When you are brought up out of the water, it represents the new resurrected life that God has
given to you (Romans 6:4). Simply put, baptism is something that Christians outwardly do in order to show what God has inwardly done. Jesus Christ gives new life to all who place their faith in Him.  The only requirement for you to be baptized is that you believe in Jesus Christ, and that you understand what baptism represents.

4

Fellowship: is a word that simply means to interact with other Christians. The Christian life was never intended for you to do alone. It's vital to your walk with Christ to surround yourself with mature Christians and friends who are on the same spiritual journey as you. When you begin to share and pray together, you're walk with Christ will continue to grow.

By joining the family of God, you've made an important decision—one you'll never regret. And the best way for you to engage in these four essential steps to deepening your relationship with Christ, is for you to ask God to lead you to a Bible-based church where you'll be surrounded by other like-minded Christians that will love on you, pray with you, and encourage you in your spiritual journey. By doing this, you'll become a strong disciple of Jesus Christ and you'll be on your way to living a fruitful, victorious Christian life.
